Fleet and Match Racing
We offer J-24 fleet racing and match racing Saturday afternoons from 12 to 3pm. Sixteen teams will fleet race from November 7, 2009 through March 6, 2010. The Match Race Championship will be the last two Saturdays of the Season. A qualifing round will be held on March 13th and the finals on March 20th. Post race wrap-ups feature video highlights of the day's racing, along with spirits and chili. It's a lovely way to spend a winter Saturday afternoon.
Pricing
$715/Person
Call the office if you would like to join a team for the season.
$3217.50/Boat
Skippers with crew can purchase a boat (five spots) for the series. The spots can also be split among a larger group to allow for those who don't want to sail every week.
$40/Person/Day
If you want to try it out frostbite racing but can't commit to a team, call the Center and we will put you on the crew list for the upcoming race day.
Team Racing
New for 2009, the Boston Sailing Center will now offer team racing on J-24s. Racing will take place every other Sunday from November 8th through March 7th for a total of 10 sessions from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The program set-up will allow for competitive racing between teams, and will include both on-water instruction and post-race commentary. Teams will be assigned by the BSC to provide for balanced, competitive racing. There will be overall scoring based on individual performance.
